Vad gjorde du den 13 mars, år 2001? Förmodligen satt du och laddade hem version 1.1 av den där #Half-Life-modden från vårt eminenta filarkiv. Det vankades nämligen en stor uppdatering och inte mindre än fem nya banor skulle debutera. Banor som dessutom skulle bli några av hörnpelarna Counter-Strike, De_Dust2 och De_Inferno.

Inferno nylanserades till #Global Offensive så sent som i höstas efter att ha fått sig en rejäl uppfräschning och för bara några veckor togs Dust 2 ur rotationen för att få samma välbehövliga behandling.

Version 1.1 av Counter-Strike innebar också en rad spelmekaniska förändringar, såsom att siktet togs bort för sniper-gevär när de var utzoomade, vilket förhindrade att de kunde användes som hagelbrakare på nära håll. Sniper-skott som träffade benet var inte heller inte längre dödliga. Man gjorde också kulsprutor mindre träffsäkra om du hoppade medan du sköt.

Utöver de två redan nämnda legendariska banorna släpptes även Rotterdam, Thunder och Vertigo där bara den sistnämnda har synts sedan det begav sig. Nostalgiker hittar den kompletta changelisten nedan.

Counter-Strike 1.1

  • Added spectator mode -- allow_spectators. (0/1)

  • Made jumping while shooting more inaccurate with submachine guns.

  • Took out sniper crosshair when zoomed out.

  • AWP leg shots now non-lethal.

  • Add option to take "end game" screenshot.

  • Logic use to cycle the map has been changed. The map will cycle if one of three conditions has been met:

    • "mp_timelimit" has been met.

    • "mp_winlimit" rounds have been won by one of the teams

    • "mp_maxrounds" have been played.

  • Fixed many cheats

  • "Out of ammo" hint message fixed.

  • "Punished for team killing" hint message fixed.

  • "Through floor" death animation fixed.

  • New CVAR, mp_playerid , toggles what information players see in the status bar.

  • New CVAR, mp_fadetoblack, overrides mp_forcechasecam.

  • New CVAR, mp_forcechasecam.

  • New CVAR, mp_buytime, can now designate the desired amount of buy time for each round (min buy time is .5 minutes).

  • New CVAR, mp_winlimit, will cycle the map after one team reaches this many wins.

  • Changed CVAR, mp_timelimit, fixed to support 0 (no time limit).

  • Changed CVAR, mp_roundtime, changed to support partial minutes.

Interface changes:

  • Weapon manufacturers are no longer specified in the buy menu.

  • Length of MOTD increased to 1536.

  • Status bar text uses team colors.

  • All CS Strings localized to titles.txt.

  • Changed logging format to meet the standards. Several events have been added to the logs:

    • "Begin_Bomb_Defuse_Without_Kit"

    • "Spawned_With_The_Bomb"
