Neil Druckmann från Naughty Dog ber om ursäkt och förståelse för förseningen, som beror på att man behöver mer tid att polera spelet till önskat skick. Han säger att man fick väldigt fin respons när spelet visades för medier nyligen. Men...
However, it was during the last few weeks, as we were closing out sections of the game, that we realised we simply didn’t have enough time to bring the entire game up to a level of polish we would call Naughty Dog quality. At this point we were faced with two options: compromise parts of the game or get more time. We went with the latter, and this new release date allows us to finish everything to our level of satisfaction while also reducing stress on the team.
While we’re relieved that we won’t have to compromise our vision, we’re disappointed that we weren’t able to avoid this exact situation. We wish we could’ve foreseen the amount of polish we needed, but the size and scope of this game got the better of us. We hate disappointing our fans and for that we’re sorry.
The Last of Us 2 släpps alltså den 29 maj, en och en halv månad efter Cyberpunk 2077. Kan bli en fin vår, detta.
Ursprunglig nyhet: Igår berättade en pålitlig källa att "oväntade nyheter" kanske var på gång kring ett Playstation-spel. Idag berättar än mer pålitliga Jason Schreier via Kotaku att The Last of Us Part II skjuts fram från februari till senare samma vår. Detta enligt två källor insatta i Naughty Dog-maskineriet.
The news isn't official yet, and Sony didn't respond to a request for comment yesterday, but Kotaku has heard from two people familiar with goings-on at Naughty Dog that the game is bumped to spring. We expect an announcement this week.
Så sent som förra månaden spikades 21 februari 2020. Vi har dock väntat sedan december 2016, då The Last of Us 2, uppföljaren till ett av tidernas mest rosade Playstation-spel, avslöjades. Möjligen blir väntan något längre men förhoppningsvis väntar vi på något riktigt gott.
Dessutom: Playstation 5 släpps i slutet av 2020 och att The Last of Us Part II, i likhet med originalet, får en remaster till nästa generations Playstation är definitivt ingen högoddsare.
