Den första Call of Duty-filmen ska spelas in under nästa år under regi av Stefano Sollima. Vi vet inte mycket om den, men Activision har tidigare berättat (via IGN) att man ämnar bygga ett universum av Call of Duty-filmer, inte olik Marvels lukrativa strategi. Stacey Sher:
We have plotted out many years [...] There’ll be a film that feels more like Black Ops, the story behind the story. The Modern Warfare series looks at what it’s like to fight a war with the eyes of the world on you. And then maybe something that is more of a hybrid, where you are looking at private, covert operations, while a public operation is going on.
Sher och Nick Van Dyk (båda Activision Blizzard Studios) blir producenter av det Marvel-lika filmuniversumet. På tal om Marvel: Variety avslöjar att den vassa pennan (som en klo?) bakom Black Panther, Joe Robert Cole, kommer skriva den andra Call of Duty-filmen. Det är allt vi vet om den filmen i nuläget, men får Activision som de vill är detta alltså bara början.
