2014 återvände Playstation Experience i samband med Playstations 20-årsjubileum och har sedan dess varit en årlig decemberfest för gamers. 2016 avslöjades The Last of Us: Part II, men i år blir det inga avslöjanden. Faktum är att det inte ens blir något Playstation Experience.

The reason behind that is, we don’t have ... we have a lot of progress, and now that we have Spider-Man, looking down in 2019 to games like Dreams and Days Gone, but we wouldn’t have enough to bring people altogether in some location in North America to have that event. We don’t want to set expectations really high and then not deliver on it. It was a hard decision, but we have determined we will not hold PlayStation Experience.
PS4 har haft ett kanonår sett till exklusiva AAA-releaser – God of War, Detroit, Spider-Man – och som Layden nämner är ju titlar som Dreams och Days Gone redo för 2019, medan The Last of Us-tvåan och Ghost of Tsushima ännu inte har releasefönster. Det finns med andra ord exklusiva begivenheter på gång, men inte tillräckligt med nytt material för att motivera ett event.
