Darksiders III är plötsligt en grej. Efter THQ-döden såg det mörkt ut och vägen från Darksiders II till trean har varit skakig, vilket Gunfire (f.d. Vigil Games) berättar i den senaste filmen från IGN. Kort efter att tvåan var färdig gick THQ i konkurs vilket enligt Gunfirechefen David Adams "sög".

De flesta från nedlagda Vigil Games började om med Gunfire Games och även om de var glada över att ens överleva hoppades de en dag få chansen att utveckla ett nytt Darksiders. Nu är de till sist där, men det tog alltså flera år att hitta hit. John Pearl, design director på Gunfire, berättar om den omtumlande perioden innan sista spiken slogs i Vigils kista.

They broke up the THQ studios and put them up for auction, and we were like, 'We're the Darksiders guys! Surely somebody will buy us, right?' I think it was because we had just finished Darksiders II and didn't have a huge game in production, we got the message back that nobody bought us and we're closing. That was just ... shocking. We weren't expecting that. We were 'Hey, we made a good game that reviewed well and people liked. Why wouldn't somebody buy us?
